Jason Aldean’s fifth studio album Night Train steamrolled to a No. one debut on the Billboard Top 200 chart today with 409,303 copies sold in its first week. This marks the second-highest debut in all genres of music this year and the highest in country since 2010. “This past week was beyond anything I ever expected,” said Aldean. “The ‘Night Train’ has already been a crazy ride for me. I couldn’t be more thankful. I’m really looking forward to finishing out the tour this weekend and getting back to Nashville for the CMAs next week.”
Today's KFDI presents the 2012 CMA Awards Preview Special hosted by reigning “CMA Entertainer of the Year” Taylor Swift. The four-hour Premiere Networks special, which airs Sunday night starting at 7pm on KFDI will feature music and interviews with all the top stars, including “The 46th Annual CMA Awards” co-hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Eric Church, Jason Aldean, reigning “CMA Female Vocalist of the Year” Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, reigning “CMA Male Vocalist of the Year” Blake Shelton, reigning “CMA Vocal Duo of the Year” Sugarland, Eli Young Band and Lady Antebellum, among others.
Taylor Swift will vote in her first presidential election this year. Like many of her other closely-guarded secrets, the singer-songwriter refuses to reveal just who will be getting her vote. "I follow it, and I try to keep myself as educated and informed as possible," Taylor tells Time magazine. "But I don't talk about politics because it might influence other people. And I don't think that I know enough yet in life to be telling people who to vote for." Because Taylor had turned 18 a month after the 2008 Presidential election, she's still learning the ropes of the entire voting process, including how to cast her ballot while traveling overseas. "I'm going to be out of the country," she notes, "so I'll have to get a special form, I think."
