What Carrie Revealed During Backstage Q&A with KFDI Fans

Carrie Underwood says her tour bus microwave is getting a good workout.  Saturday night in a backstage Q&A before her Blown Away concert at Intrust Bank Arena, Carrie told a group of fans that she mostly cooks veggie burgers in the microwave for meals on the road. Of course, Carrie is a vegetarian and has said in the past that she doesn't go out to eat at restaurants while on the road.

During Saturday night's Q&A with Carrie backstage, she talked about the animal shelter she built in her hometown. Carrie's mom, Carol, volunteers there. "She gets up at 4:30 in the morning to volunteer at the shelter," Carrie told us.  And, she says they recently made an agreement with an animal shelter in Chicago, IL to send some dogs there. "They adopt shelter animals in Chicago," she said. See more about Carrie's shelter here: http://www.checotahshelter.com/index.html

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will begin the rehearsals Monday for Thursday night's CMA Awards.  While Brad says the show is pretty much written, Carrie told a small group backstage Saturday night at the Wichita KS concert that she is still getting script rewrites several times a day.  The pair always find someone or something from the past year in country music to zero in on.  My guess is there is going to have to be something about the new ABC Show, Nashville.  How much you wanna bet that Hayden Panettiere shows up playing the part of Carrie??  Or maybe a soap opera spoof of some kind.

Hunter Hayes' first #1 song, Wanted, was written to impress a girl. Hunter told KFDI's Carol Hughes that he wrote the song three or four years ago as a "best effort to tell a girl how I felt," Hunter says, "My goal was to record the song, just make a demo of it. And, to have it playing in the Suburban when we went out that weekend.... and to just play it for her and have her hear it."  How did that work out?  It didn't.  "I decided against it (playing it for the girl) after I wrote the song," Hunter says, "It touched on so many things I wanted to say. It was so deep and so real, I was kind of scared of it for a second there." Hunter said he eventually did play it for the girl and said they are now "best buds."  Guess it didn't work out quite like he planned.  Watch Carol's interview with Hunter at http://bcove.me/5zqvfs01

Miranda got a new "do".  The star needed a change . . . so she cut her hair.  On Wednesday she Tweeted, quote, "Gettin' a new do today!"  And then yesterday she showed it off, writing, "A change would do u good."

The Band Perry is ready for us to hear the first new music from their second album.  The trio will premiere their brand new single “Better Dig Two”on Monday (10/29) and then play the song live for the first time on the CMA Awards on Thursday. Neil Perry says the group is ready to put this new music out there, “After spending countless hours in the studio working on our next album, we are very excited for everyone to hear our first single, “Better Dig Two.”  The Band Perry will be in Wichita, opening for Rascal Flatts, on January 19th.

I guess Keith Urban is still on American Idol.  No news that he actually left the show after a source said he told producers he was fed up with the constant fighting between Mariah Carey and Nicky Minaj. Keith is set to make his debut as an American Idol judge when the show's 12th season premieres January 16, 2013 on Fox.

Rodney Atkins has some advice for parents who are thinking of dressing up their baby for Halloween.  Don't waste your money.  “You go back to that first Halloween...they don’t know what Halloween is. They have no idea. Best advice for new parents is to take whatever you’re going to go crazy for your kid and put it in their college fund that year. ‘Cause they have no idea. Just give them a box and some paper to play with.”

Jason Aldean is set to have a very good 2013. Jason sold out tickets for a performance at Boston's Fenway Park in seven minutes. Jason is going on a stadium tour next year. He will also play Chicago's Wrigley Field and the University of Georgia's Sanford Stadium in 2013.
How about an open field of a different sort?  Jason Aldean will play Country Stampede in Manhattan, KS Friday night June 28, 2013.  Those tickets are on sale now for only $55.  You can buy them at countrystampede.com
