Taylor Swift has won her fifth consecutive Favorite Country Female at the American Music Awards last night. "This is unreal!" the superstar said in her acceptance speech. Carrie Underwood won the honor back in 2007, with Taylor winning every year since then. Carrie's Blown Away won the favorite country album honor, . Luke Bryan was named Male Country Artist of the year and Lady Antebellum claimed the country band trophy.
Keith Urban says the four judges on American Idol are "stepping on each others' toes." “There’s a learning curve in any job, right?” Keith says. “We’re just getting our grooves. We’re like four people on the dance floor stepping on each other’s toes until we get the hang of it.” The show debuts in January with taped episodes. That will Keith time to work on his new album due next year and a planned 2013 tour.
Speaking of tours. The first tickets for Taylor Swift’s RED Tour went on sale Friday morning in several cities, selling out 14 stadium and arena shows within minutes. The fastest sell out was in Los Angeles where two shows sold out in 1 minute. It must have seemed forever that it took 25 minutes to sell out Soldier Field in Chicago, by comparison! Unfortunately, seats to the sold-out shows are already on sale on scalping websites for thousands of dollars per ticket. Taylor Swift’s website says The RED Tour will include a stop in Wichita on August 6th.
