A group of super fans of Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert want the couple to be the hosts of Saturday Night Live on NBC. There is a Facebook page that has gone up titled “Blake Shelton as SNL HOST with Miranda Lambert as Musical Guest.” The page says: “If Facebook can get Betty White we sure as hell can get Blake and Miranda on SNL!” Of course, there is a natural tie-in. Blake does host The Voice on NBC after all.
Speaking of The Voice….the show is being touted as the savior of NBC. The New York Times says the "unexpected turnaround from worst to first" of NBC this fall is thanks to its heavy reliance on The Voice. The show will go to two seasons per year starting in 2013. And, yes, Blake plans to be on the at least one of the 2013 Voice seasons.
Toby Keith is on Forbes' annual list of highest-earning music stars. Riding in at No. 10, he tied pop star Justin Bieber with $55 million in estimated earnings in 2012. Keith's high-paying gig sponsorship with Ford has entered its second decade, and added to his successful Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill restaurant franchise and his top-selling album, "Clancy's Tavern," helping him sell out tour stops, Keith is the only Oklahoman in this year's top 20.
Well, Lady Antebellum has cancelled all of their tour for summer 2013 because Hillary Scott will be close to delivering her first child by that time. According to the trio’s official website, a few dates in late June through August have already been canceled. And, that includes Country Stampede. Hillary announced last Friday that she's expecting her first baby with husband Chris.
Eric Church will be spending a lot of his time logging trees to build a lake on his new Nashville-area property. "I have a new hobby, and it's pretty much logging," Eric tells Rolling Stone. Eric says the process is a big stress reliever for him, "When you're out there, you can't think of anything but that saw and that tree because if you do, you're gonna kill yourself. For me, it's therapeutic."
REO Speedwagon’s Kevin Cronin wants to write a song for Keith Urban. The frontman of one of rock’s biggest groups says, “I’ve had a lot of musical goals in my life, but getting Keith Urban to do one of my songs is one of my last ones. Kevin tells CountryWeekly.com, “His talent amazes me. If he did just even one of my songs, I can die a happy man.” Kevin Cronin isn’t a stranger to country music. He has traveled to Nashville to write with the likes of Martina McBride and Deana Carter
