At least one person is saddened by the end of the NHL lockout. Carrie Underwood Tweeted “Well, folks, hockey is back! Very bittersweet…I just lost my purse holder but gained cheering on my hot husband as he kicks butt! #GoPreds.” It's true that Carrie's husband, Predator player Mike Fisher was spotted many times with his wife’s purse tucked under his arm at country music-related red carpet events, where she is the obvious star.
More battling between Tim McGraw's record labels. The singer’s former label, Curb Records, just announced that an album called‘Tim McGraw and Friends’ will be released January 22 and they are putting out a single of Tim dueting with Colt Ford on the song ‘Twisted.’ Then, on Feb. 5, Tim will release his first album with his new label, Big Machine called ‘Two Lanes of Freedom.’ The timing of the two albums no doubt has to do with the continued legal fight between Tim and Curb records.
Country cutie Taylor Swift has reportedly broken up with her latest boyfriend, Harry Styles from the band One Direction. He's 18, she's 23. The breakup might have something to do with the age difference. Taylor says she wants to stay away from the glitzy celebrity lifestyle and admits she is not a party girl. Taylor told contactmusic.com “I’m not a party girl. I love performing on stage, that’s where I can really come alive and get a bit wild, but in private I want to live more quietly.” Taylor adds, “The trouble is, if I mess up there will be six months of headlines afterwards.”
One week away from the debut of the new season of American Idol, Ryan Seacrest will host a nationwide interactive Q&A live with the judges, including Keith Urban, tonight (Wed 1/9/13). The new season of Nashville starts tonight on ABC. Chris Young will guest star on NASHVILLE on Wednesday, January 23rd. In the episode titled "You Win Again," Edgehill Records celebrates the success of "Wrong Song" with a lavish party attended by Rayna, Juliette, Chris Young and Brantley Gilbert (as themselves). ‘Nashville’ airs Wednesday’s at 9pm CT on ABC.
Blake Shelton has revealed that his family called him, ‘Dough Boy’ when he was growing up, because he was so chubby. He says he loved any kind of bread so one time his aunt wrapped a can of breadsticks dough and gave it to him for a present. Dough Boy, Blake will return for Season 4 of ‘The Voice’ on NBC March 25th. He has just released a new single called ‘Sure Be Cool If You Did.’
