Brantley Gilbert and Jana Kramer are engaged. Brantley rented out Nashville's Ryman Auditorium Sunday (Jan. 20) for the entire day -- which just so happened to be his 28th birthday -- and popped the question there. "I was so surprised!" Jana told People. "He asked my mom for permission before he proposed, which meant a lot to me." We knew the two were serious. Earlier this month, they bought a home in Nashville together. "We could not be happier!" the couple told People magazine. "We are so excited to share this special time with our loved ones and cannot wait to start the rest of our lives together."
Real country stars will join the party, literally, Wednesday (Jan. 23) on ABC’s ‘Nashville.’ Brantley Gilbert and Chris Young will be making cameos as themselves while mingling at a party celebrating the success of the duet between the show's female leads, Rayna and Juliette. This marks Brantley's first-ever guest appearance on a scripted TV show. But he did get some help with his role from his new fiance, Jana Kramer. "She knows what she is doing. She sure had some pointers. But the role was playing myself, so it was pretty easy. But, yeah, she had some pointers,"
Another magazine cover for Carrie Underwood. This time it's on Modern Dog Magazine. She gave them an exclusive interview…and a few precious pictures with her pups Ace and Penny! Carrie says her puppies have become "tour dogs." She explained, "That's one of the great things about having small dogs. They’re pretty portable. My husband travels a lot, too, with hockey. So the dogs got really used to being on the road with me and they’ve really become Tour Dogs. Everybody loves them and plays with them and people take them out for walks when I’m on stage. They just kind of make life for all of us on tour better.”
A few notable country album releases today.
Gary Allan will release "Set You Free". He explains the title came from a line in his latest single, Every Storm (Runs Out Of Rain.)
Randy Houser releases "That's How Country Feels"...a monster release with 15 tracks. Randy says it's worth the money since you are getting basically an album and a half.
And, there is a Tim McGraw release today too. His old record label, Curb, is releasing Tim McGraw & Friends. It's a collection of previously recorded and released duets.
