A singer named Summer Cunningham started a firestorm on American Idol Wednesday night (Jan. 23), that led to Nikki Minaj walking off the set and shutting down production. When Keith Urban asked Summer about her background, Cunningham replied, “I did the country thing for a while,” which he took issue with. “That’s like saying, ‘I did the brain surgeon thing,’” he said. “You’re either a brain surgeon or you’re not.” While Cunningham won her way to the next round in Hollywood with four unanimous votes, Nikki Minaj ended up in a heated, and sometimes profane, exchange with Mariah Carey over the singer's comment. Did she or didn't she? The question is did Beyoncé lip sync the "Star Spangled Banner" at President Obama's second inauguration? We don't know for sure, but some country stars are weighing in. LeAnn Rimes told Jimmy Kimmel Tuesday that she usually is against singers faking it. But she is supporting Beyonce' on this one. "There are times when people will ask you to do it (lip sync,) and they will not let you [perform] unless you do it because they want control of what happens. I don't like to lip sync." However, Miranda Lambert has a much simpler defense. "I don't think it matters."
With over 180,000 YouTube views, Wyatt is already an internet star for his rendition of ‘Creepin” by Eric Church. The 3-and-a-half-year-old takes his country cover very seriously and makes it his own with unique facial expressions and head bobs. We don’t know much about Wyatt. This seems to be the only video in his collection, but he’s a natural in front of the camera. Like so many young singers in this Cute Kids Singing Country Songs feature, the toddler proves that it’s not about being spot-on with the lyrics. As long as you’re close and look adorable, you’ll win fans over.

Randy Travis is putting his legal woes behind him. The 53-year-old singer will receive a 90-day deferred sentence.
