Blake Shelton is still apologizing for his GAC Backstory blunder when he said that he was one who gets to decide where country music goes in the future. He called anyone who complained about the direction of country music today "old farts." Will Blake be "Dixie Chicked" over the comments? Not likely, but he is still trying to explain his comments. He tweeted over the weekend, "I’m so proud of where country music is today… I’ll always stand up for it. It’s my world." And wife Miranda is also sticking up for her hubby with a tweet, "My husband has taught me so much about country music. He studies it. He loves it. It’s his life’s work. @blakeshelton we all have your back!"

BTW, Taylor won the International Artist Of The Year award at the event. Here she is trying to speak some Spanish, accepting her award:
Lady Antebellum‘s new single, “Downtown,” was almost a hit for another big name in country music. Hillary Scott explained that after the group fell in love with the song, they found out that Miranda Lambert had put it on hold. Hillary said that Miranda let the song go after finding out that Lady A had their hearts set on it. “She really went above and beyond, and that’s what you find in our amazing genre of country music. That the artists really do love each other and support one another,” Hillary said. “Downtown” is the first single off of Lady A’s upcoming album. No release date has been set.

Chris Young's latest single, "I Can Take It From There" is the fourth one from his album Neon, and it's already climbing up the charts. Chris said he co-wrote the song with Rhett Atkins and Ben Hayslip on a day that didn't start out going all that well. "I had no ideas that day walking in; I had nothing," Chris admitted. "It was actually Ben's idea. He was like, 'What do you think of something like this? I think we wrote it in about an hour and went to lunch."
