Kelly Clarkson is Forbes' 'American Idol' Top-Earner For 2012 with $8-million. Forbes says Carrie Underwood and Scotty McCreery both pulled in $4 million last year. Scotty pointed out that his contract with American Idol requires him to relinquish about half of their income to Idol -- even before paying remaining agents, managers and attorneys, not to mention the IRS, meaning the teen pocketed just over $1 million of that total. Scotty notes. "I'm not in any way complaining ... I'm doing a lot better than I was a few summers ago, living off the coin jar in my truck."Scotty McCreery has admitted that he has to give away half of his earnings.
Lady Antebellum‘s Hillary Scott will be a mentor on The Voice....but not for Team Blake. She is joining Team Adam. "I was so happy that Hillary was interested in coming on ‘The Voice’ to mentor my team," Adam told Access Hollywood about his choice. "Maroon 5 and I recorded a song with her for our last studio album and we had a great time collaborating in the studio." Hillary is equally as happy about working with Adam on "The Voice." "I was so excited to join Adam for a couple days on ‘The Voice,’" Hillary told Access. "It’s an honor to mentor his team… he’s going to have some tough choices to make!" She even had some competitive words for Blake. "I’m sure [we’ll have] way more fun than Blake’s team!" "The Voice" Season 4 will premiere on March 25 at 8 PM on NBC.
Luke Bryan has so many subjects that he can put into his next album that he has been working on during his hiatus from the ‘Dirt Road Diaries’ tour this past week. There is however one subject that he struggles with. "Wow Butterflies. That’s pretty much about it. You know when you write country songs, everything is fair game in the country world."The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will be handed out at the Staples Center in Los Angles and broadcast live on CBS Sunday, February 10. Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert with Dierks Bentley and Carrie Underwood are performing on the show. Tim McGraw, Keith Urban and Faith Hill are presenters.
Miranda Lambert Would Like to Collaborate with other strong women in country music. She is leading the charge for successful female acts in country music, but she doesn’t feel threatened or overly competitive with others who are making their mark, like Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift. "I would like to work with [Taylor] and with Carrie Underwood too," she recently told omg! "There is room for [all of] us three [in country music]. We are all three different [types] of country — well Taylor’s kind of all over everywhere — but I think it would be cool for the three of us to collaborate."Gary Allan’s Set You Free remains atop the Billboard Country Album Chart for a second week in a row. "I sort of forced myself to stretch this time; one, because I had so much time and I always feel like you have to do something new to reinvent yourself, and this time it was [with] producers. I think if you cut everything at one time, if you cut 15 songs, usually it’s okay if you end up with an album cut or a couple songs that don’t make the record. But since we did it like that, we were all competing with each other. Like we only got five, so there was a lot less room for mistake. And I think the result is we just got better quality everything. I think it’s my favorite album too."
