    Blake Shelton has a date, an arena and a tv network all lined up for his Oklahoma benefit concert. Blake's ``Healing in the Heartland'' benefit concert will be held next Wednesday May 29 at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. The event will be televised live on NBC. A lineup and more details about tickets will be announced Friday.

    As we approach Memorial Day Weekend, Eric Church won't just be focusing on picnics and outdoor activities. He believes we all need to take time to thank our military heroes and remember the fallen. "I’m very proud to be from here and very proud that we have the soldiers. I know there are a lot of other countries out there in the world that don’t want to live the way we do, and that’s fine, they can keep living the way they are, but I’m very proud of it. I think that’s a time to celebrate being proud to be an American and celebrate those freedoms…and celebrate the people that are over fighting for those freedoms.”

  • Toby Keith Just Misses Being In Tornado Hit Area

    Toby Keith was almost a victim of the Moore, OK tornado. Toby says he left Moore just hours before the monster storm devastated parts of his hometown. He said he had a "bad feeling" when he left the town around noon Monday. When he heard the tornado was heading toward Moore, he called his sister to warn her. She was already in a shelter, he said.

    Blake Shelton had to go live on The Voice Monday night, even as his homestate was dealing with the devastating tornado that hit Moore, OK. Blake said he was forced to "put my phone down" because the show was live. He said his family was fine, but that the victims in Moore were "going through hell."

    Tim McGraw will be the first artist to play the new arena at the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane. Tim's Two Lanes Of Freedom Tour will play the KS Star on July 7th, with opening act Joe Nichols.     The new American Idol will be crowned tonight. It'll either be country artist Kree Harrison or soulful singer Candace Glover. In my opinion, it is a tie, although Kree got all 50 of my votes last night. Las Vegas oddsmakers are also favoring Kree to win.     Keith Urban may not be returning to the American Idol judges' panel. Word this morning from an AI insider that producer Nigel Lythgoe will be replacing all of the judges after this season ends. Ratings for this season on American Idol have been way down. It seems producers are trying to blame the judge's for the downturn.

    Kenny Chesney just can't seem to stop debuting albums on top of the all-genre album chart. His Life On A Rock is No.1 on Billboard’s all-genre Top 200 Albums chart and, of course, on the country album chart too. This marks Kenny’s 7th Top 200 album debut and his 12th consecutive Billboard Top Country Albums chart debut. “It’s a little surreal,” says Kenny.

  • Carrie & Brad Named In Plagiarism Lawsuit Over Duet

    Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley are named in a lawsuit saying their duet "Remind Me" was plagiarized. A songwriter named Amy Bowen says she wrote the song in 2007 while living in Nashville. The lawsuit claims that she sang the song agt a showcase attended by two of the song's co-writers. Both Brad and Carrie say, though, the song came to life during a phone call. “When we were a little ways into the writing, I said, ‘I just hear her singin’,’ so I call her. I didn’t even have a verse when I talked to you on the phone. I said, ‘I promise this’ll be great." Brad said. Carrie adds, ”It happened just like that.”

    His death has renewed interest in George Jones' music. This week “He Stopped Loving Her Today” re-enters the country singles chart at No. 21. It first topped the chart in July 1980. Plus, the track also opens at No. 15 on Country Digital Songs with 34,000 sold, an increase of 2,926%!

  • George Jones Funeral To Be Televised

    George Jones’ funeral is today (May 2) at The Grand Ole Opry House. It will be broadcast on several country tv channels, CMT, GAC, RFD TV. Music at the service will be performed by Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Ronnie Milsap, the Oak Ridge Boys, Randy Travis, Travis Tritt, Tanya Tucker, and Wynonna. First Lady Laura Bush, Kenny Chesney,and Barbara Mandrell will all make special remarks.

  • Jason Aldean Files For Divorce

    Jason Aldean and his wife Jessica are divorcing after 12 years of marriage. The divorce, filed Friday in Tennessee, cites irreconcilable differences. Jason was photographed kissing former ‘American Idol‘ singer Brittany Kerr in a bar. Still, in a statement released through his rep, Jason is asking fans not jump to conclusions, “I’ve learned that everyone always rushes to judgement when they hear news like this. That’s really hard because no one knows anything about our relationship but us."

  • George Jones Funeral Open To All Fans

    George Jones’ funeral will take place on Thursday, May 2nd at The Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee, starting at 10 am and will be open to the public. "Thanks to George’s friends, fans, and loved ones for the outpouring of love at this terrible time," said Nancy Jones. "I love you all." Family, friends, and fellow performers will attend a private funeral Wednesday evening. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to the Grand Ole Opry trust fund.
