    Brad Paisley filed a lawsuit against Sony Music in Nashville, asking a New York court to award him royalties he says he was underpaid on songs he wrote. The lawsuit was filed “under the radar” but came to light when the judge in the case made a published ruling that Brad had missed the agreed upon deadline to sue over some of the alleged miscalculations. She limited the damages he could recover. The decision was published in on a law website,

    Jason Aldean was the big winner at Monday's American Country Awards, taking home six new Fender guitars (the officialACA 'trophy'), including one for the night's top honor: Artist of the Year. "This is a little ridiculous now," the superstar said upon taking the stage for his sixth win. "It's been a crazy year. It's definitely 'my kinda party.' 'My Kinda Party' is, of course, the title of Jason's latest album -- the best-selling country CD of the year and the winner Monday for ACA Album of the Year. Jason's other ACA wins include Single By a Male Artist, Touring Headline Package of the Year and Vocal Collaboration for 'Don't You Wanna Stay' with Kelly Clarkson. Other winners last night:

    Taylor Swift is on the cover of a special issue of Billboard Magazine, honoring her as the Billboard Woman of the Year. In the article, Taylor talks about growing up in the spotlight of her fame. She said she wouldn’t change a thing. When asked if she considers herself a woman now, Taylor said it wasn’t for her to decide, “Whether I’m a woman now, or whatever, is up to my fans to decide, not for me. I really haven’t felt the need to make some bold statement of maturity or make the “dark” record yet.” Taylor will turn 22 on December 13th.

    Brad Paisley says he still plans to jam with his good buddy , Keith Urban. But there will be no duet between the two. Keith is under doctor’s orders not to speak for 3 weeks following his vocal chord surgery. Brad admits he is “very capable of” holding up both ends of the conversation. He says, Keith can “just nod and grunt and do whatever he’s allowed to do.”

    The nominations are out for the 54th annual Grammy Awards . Taylor Swift was shut out of the award she won last year. Speak Now was not nominated for the all genre Album Of the Year as expected. She was nominated for three awards. Here are the country nominees:

    The judge in the Tim McGraw lawsuit against his record company has made a ruling.

    Curb Records wasted no time in retaliating for a judge's decision Wednesday that allows Tim McGraw to sign with any record label he chooses.(See Nashville Stew Breaking News for 11/30) Hours after the judge's ruling, Curb released a Tim McGraw single to radio. The song, Better Than I Used To Be" from Tim's unreleased album Emotional Traffic. The record label had argued in court that Tim delivered the album too close to another release, a greatest hits album. The judge ruled that Tim delivered the product called for in the contract and was free to get on with his career. This ruling does not negate another lawsuit for breech nof contract filed by Curb Records against Tim.

    Jennifer Nettles quietly wed her boyfriend, entrepreneur Justin Miller, over the Thanksgiving weekend, according to People magazine. They were married in a chapel in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains on Saturday (Nov. 26), where they said their vows in front of a small group of friends and family, including her duo partner, Kristian Bush. There is no honeymoon for now. Sugarland will perform on Wednesday’s 'Grammy Nominations Concert Live! -- along with the Band Perry and Jason Aldean on CBS at 9pm. Jennifer is also hosting the Country Christmas special on ABC, that was taped on November 10th after the CMA Awards.

    ABC Family’s annual “25 Days of Christmas” kicks off next week and to celebrate, they’ve teamed up with The Band Perry for a festive new music video aptly titled, “25 Days of Christmas.” TBP wrote the song especially for ABC Family. A sneak peek of the music video premiered Sunday night during an airing of ”Holiday in Handcuffs,” but fans can now view it in its entirety! Check out the video below…

  • Alabama To Return in 2012

    According to CMT.com, Alabama is back and will be hitting the road with new music in 2012. “Alabama’s agreed to do 15-20 shows next year, and possibly if that works out, we will do an overseas tour in 2013,” Cook said. Longtime drummer Mark Herndon was not featured on Paisley’s single and will not be involved in the band’s reunion shows. The three founding members are also planning to record a new album. “We hope to put out some new music,” Cook said. “We’re reviewing stuff right now. We’ll have some studio time to get in and hopefully come out with something better than we have ever had before.”

    Brad Paisley is a best selling author now. His first book, “Diary Of A Player,” has made the NEW YORK TIMES BEST-SELLER LIST for two weeks in a row. It was released on November 1st by Simon And Schuster. Brad says he wrote the book as a thank-you and tribute to the guitar heroes that were and are in his life. It is co-written with DAVID WILD.

    Toby Keith is headlining the 2012 Country Stampede. The announcement just made Thursday that Toby will play Stampede on Saturday night June 23, 2012. Also coming to Country Stampede in 2012 are Zac Brown Band, Luke Bryan, Brantley Gilbert, The Band Perry and Steve Holy. More acts are to be announced. Tim stays fit and trim with 200 push-ups and crunches each day and he credits his 15-year marriage to fellow country superstar Faith Hill and being dad to three daughters (Gracie, 14, Maggie, 13, and Audrey, 9) with keeping him grounded.     The Band Perry are in high demand after their amazing CMA week. They will be featured on Christmas in Washington airing Dec. 16 on TNT. The concert is attended each year by the president and first lady. It will be taped Dec. 11 at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.

    Lady Antebellum's third album, Own the Night, has gone platinum just four weeks after its release. The group’s Dave Haywood calls the weeks since the album has been released “dizzying and exciting.” He says, “it's also really energizing” and “a huge confidence booster." Own the Night hasn’t just been a hit in America. It also debuted in the top 10 in the UK, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and Switzerland.

    Chris Young is now the proud owner of something very special to him: a guitar once owned by one of his heroes, the late Keith Whitley. Chris tells us he’ll be feeling just a little pressure trying to write a song with Keith Whitley’s old guitar. "“There’s pressure! Oh, trust me, there’s…’cause I’m gonna use it to write with, and I mean, you don’t want to come out of the gate and the first song you write on Keith Whitley’s old guitar is terrible.” The guitar was one of the three guitars that Keith Whitley used on the road between ‘84 and ‘89, right before he died.

Wait, there's more. Kenny and Tim are rumoured to be launching a tour together sometime next year. Again, this is not official, but an announcement is supposed to come any day now.
