    The male half of country duo Steel Magnolia has entered rehab for treatment of alcohol and substance abuse. Joshua Scott Jones released a statement saying that "God has been on my heart to announce and make public that I have entered a rehabilitation and treatment facility. Meghan Linsey, Joshua's singing partner and fiance, began playing Steel Magnolia's scheduled tour dates alone this past Sunday. The couple isn't saying how long Joshua will be in treatment. The duo is scheduled to join Reba McEntire's All The Women I Am Tour this fall.

    Brad Paisley likes working with American Idol winners. His is great friends with Carrie Underwood. Now, Brad has asked another Idol winner to join him on his tour. While wrapping up his H2O tour Sunday night in Raleigh, North Carolina, Brad asked Scotty McCreery to join him on stage, where he extended the invitation for the teenager to open for Brad's 2012 tour, “Do you want to go on tour with me?” McCreery nodded “yes” and Paisley told him, “Great, I’m going to take you out next year.”

    Members of Rascal Flatts got the surprise of their lives on Tuesday night when in the midst of an Opry performance at the Grand Ole Opry House, Vince Gill walked out and invited the guys to become the Opry’s newest members. Joe Don Rooney, Jay DeMarcus and Gary LeVox all teared up at the invitation. “I’m usually not at a loss for words, but I definitely am tonight,” said bassist Jay DeMarcus. “We came here on family vacations growing up over the summer, and just to go from the nose bleeds and watching some of my favorites on the stage to 20-some years later to be asked to be a part of it … is completely emotionally overwhelming. I don’t even know what to say or do.” Rascal Flatts will be inducted into the Opry Oct. 8 during the Opry’s 86th birthday celebration.

    Blake Shelton finally did a duet with Miranda Lambert and made it the title track for his new album "Red River Blue." But it looks like the song won't be released as a single. He told AOL.com, "I never realized until the last couple of years, (that) when you're not on the same label as another artist and you record together, it almost takes a miracle. It's a thousand wonders that it worked out with 'Hillbilly Bone', because looking back, TRACE (ADKINS) probably knew he was leaving his label and then everything worked out where it could be a single." Blake is with Warner Music Nashville. Miranda is signed to Sony Music Nashville.

    Is Tim McGraw Breaking Up the Dancehall Doctors? Tim wrote on his Facebook page about "recent changes" in his backup band. It's pretty clearly that one, or several members, are history. He wrote: "As some of you might know, there have been some recent changes in my band. Change can be hard, and it's not something you come to lightly. I couldn't be more proud of the music we've created together over the years, and I'll treasure the memories. I know you will join me in wishing everyone only the best in their future endeavors." Nothing official out of Tim's spokesperson. We expect more clarification this week.

    BRANTLEY GILBERT deserves him huge props. He came to the rescue of a pit bull that was being abused. And gave the dog a home. It happened at a show in Macon, Georgia. Brantley says, about the dog, "There were some guys feeding her beer and bar food and kinda trying to get her drunk, and I thought it was that guy's dog. And it got time for show time and I was out back doing a meet and greet, and they got ready to come inside for the show and (the guy) threw a beer bottle at her." At that point Brantley knew it wasn't their dog and that they were just messing with it. He continues, quote, "I didn't like that a bit so (the guy) and I had a little . . . conversation. (And then) I called the dog to me. She came straight to me." He took her back to the hotel and had a friend come pick her up to take her to his house in Alabama. He named the dog Alley.

    Lady Antebellum owned the charts this week. With 347,000 copies of Own The Night sold, they earn the No. one position on the Billboard Top 200. That is the biggest first week debut by a country artist this year.

    All five nominees for Entertainer of the Year will perform at the "The 45th Annual CMA Awards." Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, and Keith Urban, are confirmed for “Country Music’s Biggest Night(TM).” “The 45th Annual CMA Awards,” hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, airs live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Wednesday, November 9th. Tickets go on sale to the public this Saturday, September 24th (10:00 AM/CT) at www.ticketmaster.com. Prices start at $110. The tickets have sold out the past two years.

    The Academy of Country Music held its annual ACM Honors show Monday night at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, honoring special award recipients. The roster of winners ranged from country superstars Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire and Garth Brooks to Larry Gatlin and Tom T. Hall. All but Garth were in attendance Monday night to receive the Academy’s Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award, honoring trailblazers in the genre. In a video message, Brooks explained that it was wife Trisha Yearwood’s birthday, “and the queen takes precedent, of course. But I wanted to send my love and my gratitude. Thanks to the academy, not only for tonight, but for my whole career.”

    Jason Aldean has added a tattoo to his body to celebrate his latest single, Tattoos On This Town. This is Jason's second tattoo, "I had one on my shoulder, and now I have a new one on my forearm," Jason tells the Boot. "It has the names of both my daughters in it. Those are my only two ... for now." Tattoos On This Town is a song about the the place you grow up. It's a song that hits close to home for many of us, even Jason. "You're just out having fun, growing up wherever you grew up and doing all these things that helped shape you as an adult. But I think as a teen, you don't realize that your teenage years are going to be some of the best years of your life. Then you get older and look back and remember those times and what it's all about."

    Carrie Underwood is one of the most dangerous celebrities on the internet. She ranked #51 in the world in a McAfee study of which famous names cyber-criminals use to lure people to sites containing malicious software. Heidi Klum is this year’s most dangerous celebrity. Ironically, Underwood is known for not making use of some of the social media platforms other stars invest time in. She doesn’t have a Twitter account. She is the only country star on the list, now in its fifth year.

    Martina Mcbride will hit the rails for a whistle stop rail tour across America to promote the launch of her upcoming album Eleven on October 11th. Martina will be stopping in eleven cities including Newton, Kansas. Martina's four-day train ride on an Amtrak passenger train will start in Los Angeles and wrap up in New York. Martina can't wait, "This album is very special to me and I wanted to be able to share it with my fans far and wide. I also wanted to do something that has never been done before." Eleven stops to be exact. I'm so excited for this journey across America."

    Before the hit songs, awards and thousands of screaming fans, country stars held day jobs just like those who love their music. In Day Jobs, an original series premiering on Sunday, October 2 at 8 PM/ET, several of today’s top stars step away from the stage lights and put in a full day’s work the way they did before they made it big.     Lady Antebellum will release their new album "Own The Night" at midnight Tuesday. To celebrate the release, Hillary, Charles and Dave are doing a live stream concert that everyone can watch. It will be their stripped-down show Tuesday in Chicago. Just visit www.ladyantebellum.com/ownthenightlive. Also on the group's website you can get a pre-release of two tracks off the upcoming album (“Dancin’ Away With My Heart” and “Wanted You More”.) And, the website Spotify will feature a track-by-track interview with the band about the new album, exclusive streaming of tracks and a playlist Lady A created of their favorite songs.

    A double good week for Jake Owen. Jake has scored his very first No. 1 country album. Jake's 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night' tops the country chart with sales of 55,000, according to Nielsen Soundscan. The album's title track is already a No. 1 smash. "I knew it would be a hit," Jake tells The Boot of the single. "But I didn't know it would be this big. I don't know what else to base it off of, because I've never had anything like that. I've had hits on the radio, but this is different. I keep telling folks, there's a difference between a hit song and a career song, and this is a career song."

    Reba is keeping in touch with her Tweebas. Those are her followers on Twitter. Recently Reba answered questions from fans on Twitter. We learned that she loves corn dogs at the fair, she uses the Vanity Mark Eye Lash Curler, and her father is doing great after recovering from his recent stroke. We will finally learn when tickets go on sale for Reba's concert here in Wichita in November. The on sale information will be released Friday morning right here on this show. Can't wait to share it all with you.

    The wait is almost over. Lady Antebellum release their new album, Own the Night, September 13th. The group has been working on the collection since the beginning of the year, and Hillary Scott says they’re looking forward to hearing what fans have to think about it. We’ve been working on it since the beginning of this year and have put our heart and soul into it and are just really excited to see what people think." Lady A’s Dave Haywood hopes fans can tell that the three members have grown as friends for their third album, "We just feel like we’ve grown closer as friends, and musically, we know each other a lot better. And really, everything has been moving in a positive direction with us personally as friends, and then together writing songs and performing.
