Chris Young's red-hot his smash, “Voices” is one step closer to being in the record books! Chris could join Randy Travis as only the second artist in Billboard country chart history ever to release the same single twice — the same recording of the same song — and see it go to the top of the chart! Randy Travis managed to do it with “On the Other Hand.” Joining Randy in the history books would be an honor for Chris, “It is, you know, it’s so funny to see this song, since it’s technically been out twice, I laugh about it, and it really is truly amazing how much country radio really has embraced me as an artist and stuck up for this song, and people are obviously lovin’ to hear it.” “Voices” is from Chris’ The Man I Want to Be album and earned Chris his first GRAMMY® nomination for Best Male Country Vocal Performance!

Faith Hill is getting to work on a new album. It's been a while (six years to be exact) since Faith's last studio album. Even Faith has a hard time believing it's been that long, “I didn’t even realize it had been that long, to be honest with you, until someone told me that,” Faith says. “And I even argued with them. (laughing).” It's not that she hasn't had opportunities to put out new material. “I’ve actually been in the studio a couple of times in the last six years. I’m just trying to find that spark, that thing that’s exciting for me…and that feels inspired and true and honest, from an honest place. And, finding that honesty is what is keeping Faith going, It’s important for it to be the right thing for me musically,” she adds. “It’s just the process. It’s like a rediscovery. And in the midst of rediscovery, it just takes time.”

Brad Paisley is a singer, songwriter, author, cartoon artist and now oil painter. The CMA Entertainer Of The Year painted a picture that sold for $5,500 at a fundraiser for the Nashville Film Festival! Brad points out that he has had no formal training, “unless you count watching [PBS's] Bob Ross," he says. Maybe that’s why he painted a lonely little fir tree at sunset. Brad says he did the background of the oil painting at home, and completed it during the cocktail hour at the fundraiser (see photo below.)

Tim McGraw has often expressed his interest in possibly entering politics at some point in his life, after his singing and acting careers have died down a bit. During an interview with CNN on Wednesday morning, the superstar was asked again about jumping into the political arena and the support he has received from former president Bill Clinton, if he were to run for public office. "That would be something that would be a long way away. You never rule anything out," Tim told CNN with a grin. "This is a great country, and it's given me so many opportunities and given me such a wonderful life that somewhere down the line, if I feel like I can give back, I certainly wouldn't say no to it. But it would be a while and my kids would have to be grown, because I certainly wouldn't want my closet opened any time soon."

No clear #1 song this week in country music. The two charts that track the top songs are split on who has the #1 song this week. If you go by the Billboard chart, it’s Jason Aldean’s duet with Kelly Clarkson, Don’t You Want To Stay. But, according to the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart, Taylor Swift has the #1 song with Back To December. Both charts agree that Brad Paisley’s This Is Country Music is in the top 3.
