I hate waiting. I have a very hard time being patient. I received the link for this video on Friday but had to wait till Midnight for it to be active......C'MON!! Well, here it is...enjoy.....the brand new video from Brantley Gilbert, Justin Moore and Thomas Rhett....ENJOY!
Two girls tired of hearing songs about girls in cut off jeans, sitting on tailgates, shaking it in tight jeans with tanned feet...Maddie Marlow and Tae Dye wrote the song "Girl In A Country Song" taking aim at "bro country" and the treatment of women in country songs.....which they say drives them "redneck crazy" "The song is so topical and it's what's going on right now," Dye told Rolling Stone. And the two million views (and counting) on their video would seem to agree.
I came across this video while browsing my news feed over a cup of coffee this morning (it's the usual routine before taking the dog for a walk). To say I was moved is an understatement. I from time to time, for no other reason than it makes me happy, will do things for others. I've believed it is just good for the soul and the right thing to do. I'll give you this example:
Last month former WPD Officer Shane Little died in a tragic accident at Table Rock Lake. He has left behind a wife, Officer Amanda Little, and 4 young children. Shane was not only a member of our Wichita Police department but also a SWAT Team Member. In 2011 he contacted bacterial meningitis and nearly lost his life. Although he survived the illness, he lost all of his sight in one eye and approximately 70% of his sight in his other eye. Shane had no life insurance after having to leave WPD and was in the process of applying for new coverage but unfortunately the accident occurred before the paperwork was finalized.
It was 15 years ago and I was just weeks away from the birth of my daughter. My first and only and I was a HOT MESS. If you're a parent, you know what I"m talking about. I had so many questions, so much panic and anxiety. I was so afraid I was going to screw this child up in the worst way (and believe me I tried....lol)!
