George anchors newscasts on KFDI-FM and AM 1070 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
George covers the Wichita city council and Sedgwick County Commission. He has won a number of awards for newscasts and news reporting from the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters and United Press International, the Kansas Association of Broadcasters and the Associated Press.
George began his career in radio in 1974 with a campus radio station at Oklahoma State University. After graduating from OSU in 1977 he became the news director for radio station KLOR in Ponca City, Oklahoma. George moved to Wichita in 1989 and worked for the Mid America Ag Network and KLLS-FM before joining KFDI in October, 1994.
George reported on the Mulvane tornado in June, 2004 as well as the big hailstorm that damaged cars and trucks in central Wichita in July, 2009. He was also one of the mobile units covering the April 14th, 2012 tornado that hit the Oaklawn neighborhood and caused damage to Spirit Aerosystems facilities in southeast Wichita.
