The 40th annual KFDI Hunter’s Education Clinic is October 4th and 5th at Lake Afton presented by US Weapons Collectors with their next show at Century II Sept. 20th and 21st. Click here for info. on the upcoming Gun Show.
Hundreds of students of all ages are taking the two day course to get their Hunter’s Ed certificate, which in turn allows them to get their hunting license.
The two-day clinic is the largest of its kind in the United States, and is the only clinic held entirely outdoors. The staff of volunteer instructors and counselors guides students through a rotating classroom format that teaches topics such as hunting law and ethics, firearm safety, and game identification. Students also have the chance to take target practice on the clinic firing range at souvenir targets.
Please note that while the clinic is recommended for ten years old or older, Kansas law now states that students have to be eleven or older to actually test for their certificate.
If you get the chance to come out to Lake Afton the weekend of the clinic, you’ll be in for quite a spectacle.
