Several old tires dumped along county roads
Sedgwick County Sheriff Deputies would like to find the people who dumped old tires northeast of Wichita along three different roadways.
"Around 5:15 this morning, a deputy found between 100 and 200 tires dumped along and on the roadway," said Sheriff Captain Annette Haga. "They were on 45th Street North between Greenwich Road and 143rd Street East, on 143rd between 29th Street North and 45th and then back to the west on 29th between Greenwich and 143rd Street.
"At this point, I'm not aware of any leads we have on where the tires came from."
Sedgwick County Public Works employees are responsible for removing the tires.
Haga agreed the dumping of this number of tires was unusual.
"For them to be strewn out for that long of a distance is unusual, as well," Haga said. "Normally what we see is somebody just pulls up somewhere and dumps them out all in one spot."
