Stanton County crash turns fatal
A one car rollover crash in southwest Kansas left one member of a family dead and four others in the hospital.
The crash happened just after three p.m. Tuesday on U.S.-Highway 160, or 11 miles west of the town of Johnson in Stanton County. The Kansas Highway Patrol said an eastbound 2006 Pontiac driven by 22-year-old Danica Ward of Wyoming ran off the right side of the roadway and overcorrected.
The car came back across the center line and overcorrected again. The car entered the south ditch, rolled and came to rest facing north on the passenger ride of the car.
Troopers said 10-year-old Camden Ward of Lexington, Neb., was dead two hours later from injuries from the crash at the hospital. He was the only person not buckled up during the accident.
