Police are investigating a shooting incident that sent a 25-year-old man to the hospital early Friday. The shooting was reported around 6 a.m. in the 8900 block of East Harry, and the victim said he was sitting outside his apartment when a man walked up and asked to borrow a cell phone.  The man then pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the upper left chest.

Lieutenant Doug Nolte said the victim was taken to a hospital in serious condition, but his injury was not believed to be life-threatening.  The gunman was described as 5 feet 8, 180 pounds, with a medium build, and he was believed to be around 25 years of age.  He was wearing dark jeans, a dark shirt with white lettering, and he had a shaved head and a goatee beard, with a tattoo on his right forearm.  Police are still looking for the gunman.

Nolte said nothing was taken from the victim, and a motive for the shooting is unknown.
