Colwich crash seriously injures teen
A 19-year-old man was critically injured when his car went out of control and overturned just west of Colwich.
The accident was reported around 6 a.m. Sunday in the 19,200 block of West 53rd Street North.
Sedgwick County Sheriff's Sergeant Keith Allen said an eastbound car went out of control and into a ditch, then went back onto the road briefly before rolling and ending up on its top in the ditch on the north side of the road.
The driver was ejected. Allen said a passing motorist reported the crash, and the driver was flown by EagleMed helicopter to a Wichita hospital.
The name of the driver has not been released, but Allen said he is from the Colwich area. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
