A fire put a hole in the roof of a home near Lynn Rae and Fireside Lane in Derby on Monday afternoon.

The Sedgwick County Fire Department responded to the fire just before 3 p.m.

"At this time, it's under investigation," said Sedgwick County Fire Department Division Chief Eddie Fajardo. "We've got some signs of an explosion. It possibly may have come from the basement."

Fire damaged a portion of the roof, leaving a hole in it, as well as parts of the exterior on the other side of the home.

No one was hurt in the fire.

"I believe there were two adults and one child that were home at the time," Fajardo said. "They self-evacuated. They were out when we got here."

Fajardo did not have a specific monetary estimate, but said the home suffered "quite a bit" of damage.
