Teens arrested for thefts, burglaries near Valley Center
Sedgwick County Sheriff's deputies have arrested six teenagers for a recent series of burglaries and thefts in the Valley Center area.
A deputy stopped a car shortly after a homeowner confronted an intruder in the 8100 block of North Buena Vista Drive. The intruder ran away, but the homeowner gave deputies a description of a vehicle that left the area.
Deputies arrested five 16-year-old boys and a 17-year-old boy after stopping the vehicle. They are suspected in four thefts from vehicles and two burglaries. The teens were booked into the juvenile detention center on burglary and theft charges.
The property that was taken in the crime spree was valued at a total of $700. It has been returned to the owners.
