Motorcyclist struck by car in west Wichita
Wichita Police believe a 32-year-old man was racing with a car when his sport bike collided with a car that was pulling out of the Dillons parking lot at Central and Maize Rd. Tuesday evening.
The man was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis where he was listed in serious condition.
Witnesses said the motorcyclist was racing at a high rate of speed with a red Mitsubishi automobile when the accident happened.
"The individual on the motorcycle flew a pretty good distance," said Sgt. Jesse Boomer at the scene.
Investigators believe alcohol played a role in the crash. The driver of the Mitsubishi remained on the scene, and he was cited for possible DUI.
