2,500 hogs killed in fire at Butler County farm
A large hog shed was destroyed by fire at a Butler County farm late Wednesday, and the fire killed around 2,500 hogs. The fire was reported around 5 p.m. at a farm north of Benton, and crews from Benton, Towanda, Potwin and Whitewater were called to the scene.
The 50 x 140 foot shed was a total loss. The cause is still under investigation but it's believed to be electrical.
