Wichita police release image of bank robber
A photo is now available of the man who robbed the Emprise Bank branch at 6030 E. Central at around 9:45 a.m. Saturday.
"A suspect walked up to the teller, threatened to blow up the bank if he did not get the money. He did leave [the bank] with an undetermined amount of money," said Wichita Police Sergeant Scott Brunow.
Police describe the robber as an African-American man, in his 30s or 40s, with a light complexion, a handlebar mustache and beard. He was wearing a straw fisherman's hat, a dirty T-shirt, jeans and shoes.
The robber was carrying a yellow envelope and threatened employees with a weapon, but did not hurt anyone.
The man was last seen leaving the business on foot. There were no customers in the bank at the time of the holdup.
Anyone who knows the man in the photograph should contact police at 911 or call Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.
