A woman was able to escape a gunman with a bandana over his face at an outdoor ATM at the Emprise Bank at 2433 S. Seneca.

Wichita Police Lt. Doug Nolte said the woman went to the bank at about 10:55 p.m. Thursday, and someone pulled up closely behind her.

"(He) pulled in and pinned the victim's Chevy Tahoe to the point where she could not get out," Nolte said.

Nolte said the suspect got out and pointed a gun at the woman, who immediately put her vehicle into reverse and hit the gas. She was able to get out of the parking lot with the suspect running behind her.

Two officers were patrolling nearby, and the woman stopped and told them what had happened. The 28-year-old suspect was arrested minutes later. He was later booked into jail on suspicion of aggravated assault with a firearm.
