Plane crashes at Augusta Airport
The pilot of a single engine Piper is okay after her brakes failed at the Augusta Municipal Airport.
It happened shortly after 11:30 a.m. Saturday as the woman attempted to land.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said the pilot tried to stop as she came in for a landing but ended up going off of the edge of the runway and down into a ditch. The Piper crashed into a cement culvert causing minor injuries to the woman, who has been identified by authorities as 57-year-old Molly McMillin.
Her passenger Andrew McMillin, 27, was not hurt. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the FAA.
