Woman, family dog chase intruders from Wichita home
A woman and a family dog chased three intruders from a south Wichita home late Sunday night after the men tried to rob her.
Wichita Police Lieutenant Steve Kenney said the men kicked in the front door of a home in the 2800 block of South Mead. One of the men brought out a gun and demanded money, but the woman saw the orange tip of the gun and recognized it as a toy. She chased the men from the house, and the family's pit bull got loose and also chased the men.
Kenney said the woman's 13-year-old son knew one of the intruders. Police found them later at the home of that suspect.
The suspects, ages 14, 17 and 23, were booked into jail.
