Conference focuses on overcoming poverty
The Kansas Poverty Conference will be held July 25-27 at the Hyatt Regency Wichita.
The theme for the event is Helping Overcome Poverty's Existence. The conference offers intensive learning, training and planning on poverty issues to policy makers, government employees, social service agencies and low-income people.
Deborah Weinstein, the executive director of the Coalition on Human Needs, is the keynote speaker for the event. She has more than 30 years of advocacy experience, spending time as the director of the Family Division of Children's Defense before joining the Coalition on Human Needs.
