Dodge City man accused of killing infant son
Wichita's Exploited and Missing Child Unit is assisting in a case of possible child abuse in Dodge City.
Nine-month-old Brandon Villa was flown to Wichita's Wesley Medical Center on Sunday in critical condition, and he was reported dead Thursday.
His father, Jonathan Villa-Ramirez, is charged with child abuse and could now face a homicide charge. The Hutchinson News reports Villa-Ramirez, 24, was out on bond in a robbery case when the baby was injured.
Villa-Ramirez was arrested Wednesday in Texas County, Oklahoma.
Dodge City police were not commenting on the nature of the baby's injuries.
