1 injured in Wichita shooting
Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that injured one person in a north Wichita neighborhood. Lieutenant Doug Nolte said 7 people were in the 1700 block of North Pinecrest around 1 a.m. Tuesday when a car drove by, and someone in the car fired several shots.
Nolte said residents heard the shots and one of them heard a man saying that he had been hit, then she saw the man get into a car. The man turned up at Wesley Medical Center, where he was treated and released for a leg injury.
Nolte said one bullet struck a home in the 1700 block of Northeast Parkway, but no one inside the house was hurt.
Police are still working to gather information, and the only description on the car was a white, 4-door vehicle. No arrests have been made.
