Increased passengers for early flights resulted in plans to expand check points to four lanes at Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport.

A spokesman said four new X-ray machines will provide a much sharper image for Transportation Safety Administration employees. Wichita Federal Security Director Keith Osborn unveild plans for an airport security project Wednesday morning.

"Once you pass through security on either side, you can access all of the gates as you can today, but again travelers will be a little bit constricted as you try to get to your gates." Osborn said. "Passengers will experience narrow walkways during this project and are encouraged to arrive at least two hours early to avoid delays at check-in."

The project is due to begin Friday night and should be completed by August 22.
