Intrust Bank Arena loses money in 2nd quarter of this year

The Intrust Bank Arena lost more than $47,000 in the 2nd quarter of this year, according to a report presented to Sedgwick County commissioners on Wednesday. 

Assistant county manager Ron Holt said had a net loss of $47,561for the quarter, but a strong 1st quarter helped provide an overall gain in revenue of $753,274 for the first half of 2012.   There were 18 events and 20 performances at the arena during the 2nd quarter.    For the first half of the year, there have been 52 events and 64 performances.

The arena's general manager, A. J. Boleski, said the 3rd quarter is also expected to be slow, but he's looking for events to pick up in the 4th quarter to finish strong for the year.
