Wingnuts sweep Amarillo Sox
The Wichita Wingnuts won their fifth straight game and improved to 42-29 on the season with a 15-10 win over the Amarillo Sox on Wednesday night.
The offense for the Wingnuts continues to be hot, producing 18 hits in the win. Wilberto Ortiz was a triple short of hitting for the cycle, going 4-for-5 on the night with a home run, two doubles and five RBIs. Greg Porter, who was reacquired by the Wingnuts earlier in the week, finished with three hits and three RBIs.
Equally as impressive was the Wingnuts' bullpen. They combined for 5-1/3 innings pitched, allowing one earned run.
Next up for the Wingnuts is a three-game weekend series against the Sioux Fall Pheasants. The Wingnuts will not return home until Aug. 13.
