Pump malfunction affects water service in Wichita
Wichita officials say water service is back to normal levels after a brief malfunction early Thursday afternoon. Four water pumps shut off simultaneously for 15 minutes, causing a reduction in water pressure for some customers. In some areas there was a disruption in water service.
Wichita Public Works & Utilities crews are working to determine the cause of the shut down. Public Works director Alan King says 3 of the pumps are operational and repairs were continuing on the 4th pump. Customers can continue to use water at normal levels.
