Wildfires burning around Oklahoma City
NOBLE, Okla. (AP) Cleveland County residents had little time to act as a raging wildfire approached their homes.
Officials estimate about 25 homes and other structures burned Friday in the wind-whipped blaze that devoured trees and scorched earth in the Noble and Norman areas.
Dayle Bishop says he might not have gotten out if a woman hadn't knocked on his door about 3 p.m. to tell him about the fire. Bishop, who works nights as a nurse, says he didn't have time to get anything, but said, quote ``It's just stuff.''
Vin Bayne and his wife, Holly, grabbed their animals before leaving. Vin Bayne says other possessions were meaningless at this point.
Charles Wright fled with his daughter and cat to a makeshift evacuation center. Wright said he's praying for miracles.
