Citizens wanted for steering committee
The city of Wichita and Sedgwick County are looking for 10 people to serve as community at-large members on a steering committee for the Wichita-Sedgwick County Comprehensive Plan.
Applications are being accepted until Friday, Aug. 24. They are seeking to gain a broad cross-section from the community. The selection criteria includes diversity within demographics and geography, interest level, prior civic involvement and unique community interests and perspectives.
The steering committee will help with the development of a new plan that will focus on growth and development of Wichita and Sedgwick County to the year 2035. The committee will be comprised of seven members from the Wichita-Sedgwick County Metropolitan Area Planning Commission, two members of the Wichita City Council and two Sedgwick County Commissioners.
