Man injured in shooting at Wichita bar
Wichita police have more questions than answers following a shooting that occured around 2 a.m. Tuesday at The Place, located near Harry and Oliver.
Wichita Police Sergeant Kevin Tronsgard said a 29-year-old man was shot in the chest and was rushed to Wesley Medical Center in critical condition. The man was immediately taken into surgery. Lieutenant Darrell Atteberry later reported that the injury was not serious.
Tronsgard said there were between six to 10 witnesses at the scene, and that police were still talking to those witnesses to see what led up to the shooting.
Police also talked to and briefly detained a man, believed to be in his 20s, and consider him to be a suspect in the case.
No arrests have been made. Atteberry said none of the people at the scene would admit to being a witness to the shooting.
