Children left in mall while caretaker smokes meth
A caretaker was arrested on drug charges after apparently dropping several children off at Towne East Mall.
It was between 6-8 p.m. Tuesday when security guards spotted nine children, ages 1-10, wandering in the mall. Officers discovered they were dropped off so a caretaker could go smoke meth.
Police said a 35-year-old woman was booked into the Sedgwick County jail. She faces six counts of child endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said a mother of three of the children was called and her kids were returned.
Police took six children into protective custody.
