Governor Brownback releases statement following primary
Kansas Governor Sam Brownback released the following statement regarding the 2012 Primary Elections:
“I want to thank the thousands of Kansans who voted in yesterday’s primary and the election workers across Kansas for their hard work. The people of Kansas have a clear choice: Do we want to grow the government or grow the economy? Most Kansans want to grow the economy and increase the number of private sector jobs in our state. We will continue working every day to help Kansans fulfill their aspirations.”
Conservative Republicans scored big victories in Kansas yesterday as they worked to push out GOP moderates in the state legislature.
Now, a Kansas Senate that had been an obstacle to conservative fiscal and social policy changes will likely have a solid majority on the right after voters in GOP races ousted seven moderate incumbents, including Wichita State Senators Dick Kelsey and Jean Schodorf.
