Funeral service for Turnpike Patrol Trooper
A Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper who worked on the Turnpike has died after a fall at his home.
Master Trooper Jeffrey Heryford had been with the Highway Patrol since 1980 and lived in southeast Shawnee County. Heryford, who was 54, fell from a storage building loft Aug. 2, and died Monday.
The building was on property he owned in southeast Shawnee County. Trooper Heryford's service was held Wednesday in Topeka.
Heryford began his career with the Kansas Highway Patrol in 1980 and was first assigned to Troop F in Wichita.
