Wichita Police have arrested three men in connection with the August 4 murder of a man at a south Wichita home. The body of 35-year-old Pheng Xiong was found in the bedroom of a home at 830 South Erie.

Police say he had been stabbed with a sharp instrument.

Lieutenant Randy Reynolds said a 22-year-old man and two others who are 24 years of age were arrested Wednesday. They were booked into the Sedgwick County jail for first degree murder, aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary.  A felony warrant has been issued for a fourth man, pictured at left, identified as 31-year-old Rathanak Chea.

Reynolds said two of the suspects in custody are gang members, and the homicide is considered to be gang-related, although the victim did not have gang ties. He said the murder apparently resulted from a dispute that began in May, but he could not release any other details.

Reynolds said police still want to talk to a woman who gave a ride to Xiong's roommate, who was seen running from the house before the body was discovered. It's believed the woman picked up the female roommate at a Dollar General store at Lincoln and George Washington Boulevard around 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, and the roommate was taken to a location near Douglas and Seneca.

This is Wichita's 15th homicide of the year.
