A 52-year-old man was in critical but guarded condition after an accident in downtown Wichita early Friday.    It happened just before 9 a.m. near Kellogg and Broadway.

Police lieutenant Doug Nolte said the motorcycle rider was getting onto eastbound Kellogg from the Broadway ramp when he lost control.  Witnesses reported that the cycle rider apparently locked his brakes and he laid the bike down on the pavement.   The man struck his head on the pavement and he was taken to a hospital.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
