No one hurt in Butler County house fire
A propane leak is suspected to have sparked a house fire at 5425 SW Ohio in Butler County.
The fire is believed to have started about 9:33 Friday morning, while a plumber was inside the home.
"We did a search, a primary search in the structure and there was no one in the structure, luckily everyone was safe, and just as importantly all my firefighters were safe," Public Safety Director for Augusta Tyler Brewer said.
Firefighters from Andover, Benton, Towanda and Augusta responded to the fire.
"In rural areas where primarily homeowners have propane, the ground is dry, it cracks with lines coming in and can crack and break. It's very important to check your lines, check your propane to make sure things are secure, because we've seen too many fires like this," Brewer said.
At least $50,000 damage was done to the home and its contents. The plumber got out OK.
