Teen bicyclist hit by car
Wichita police say a 16-year-old bicyclist was trying to cross the street against a red light in the dark when he was struck by a Ford Mustang.
The accident happened at about 11 p.m. Friday at Maple and McLean. Paramedics took the boy to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Police say the boy was with a group of other riders at the time. The driver of the Ford, a 41-year-old man, was not hurt. The man was taken to a hospital for blood tests to determine of alcohol or drugs were in his system, which is standard procedure for injury accidents.
