The Better Business Bureau of Kansas is warning consumers about a bank card scam.

Cell phone users receive calls that include recorded messages with the statement "Bank card has been locked, please press one to proceed." Anyone who receives such a call should hang up and check with their financial institution to check on their accounts.

An employee with the BBB experienced this call first-hand from a 201-520-0001 phone number that in itself looks suspicious. The person hung up from the call and contacted the bank to verify that the bank card was still active, which it was.
