More officers on Kansas roadways through Labor Day
The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office, as well as other law enforcement offices from around Kansas, will be taking part in enhanced traffic enforcement beginning today.
Law enforcement officers will be looking for drunk drivers as well as those who break traffic laws as a part of the annual "Drunk Driving: Over the Limit, Under Arrest," campaign.
The campaign will run through Labor Day. It is supported by a grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Overall, the goal of the program is to mitigate the number of traffic deaths and injuries that come as a result of mixing alcohol with driving.
