Pratt County officials have lifted an evacuation order that went into effect for some residents of the town of Cullison after a truck carrying anhydrous ammonia collided with a semi.

Our news partners at KWCH Channel 12 reported that a semi carrying gravel struck a pickup that was carrying a tank of ammonia on U.S. 54 near the town, which is about 10 miles west of Pratt. The ammonia container was removed after officials arrived to find it in the highway.

A press release from the Pratt County sheriff's department says the driver of the pickup, 61-year-old Albert Kendall of Pratt, was taken to a local hospital.   The driver of the semi, a 43-year-old man from Miami, Florida, was not injured.

The tank on the pickup was leaking anhydrous ammonia, causing the evacuation of about 20 homes.  The Red Cross set up shelters at its Pratt office and the Cullison fire station for the affected residents.  Highway 54 was shut down for almost 6 hours.
