The Wichita Wingnuts got their 50th win of the season Saturday night in convincing fashion, scoring seven runs in the first inning.

Wichita got a serious case of "two-out magic" in the bottom of the first inning with five straight run-scoring hits. Eight of the nine Wingnut hitters recorded at least one hit, with every Wingnut hitter reaching base. The Wingnuts recorded seven extra base hits.

Nick Schumacher got the start for the visiting Sioux City Explorers and took the loss, giving up nine runs and 14 hits over four-plus innings.

Derek Blacksher recorded his ninth win of the season for Wichita after pitching 8-1/3 innings, giving up three runs and striking out six.

Wichita now holds a six-game lead in the American Association's Central Division. The series with the Sioux City Explorers concludes today at 2:05 p.m. at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
