One arrested after shots fired in Old Town
Shots rang out overnight as people were leaving bars and clubs in Old Town.
Wichita Police Sergeant Scott Brunow said police officers were monitoring crowds in the area of Wabash and 2nd St. around 2 a.m. when they heard several gunshots. Witnesses in the area identified a 28-year-old man who fired several rounds toward a vehicle.
The vehicle was occupied by two men, ages 40 and 22. Neither man was hit in the gunfire, but the vehicle they were in was struck.
Brunow said police found several shell casings in the area. The suspect was arrested for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a felon.
